Healthy Eating For The Planet


A Worldwatch Institute study from 2009 found that animal factory farming collectively creates up to 51% of all greenhouse gases on the planet. This is much more than formerly assumed and substantially exceeds the global warming contribution of ALL cars, planes, trains, etc. worldwide combined!

Industrial factory farming operations are raising large numbers of animals in close confinement with the purpose of producing meat, eggs, or milk in the fastest, most efficient, and cheapest way possible for human consumption. More than 81% of cows, 50% of pigs, and 95% of chickens are now raised in the US this way.


Factory farming with its continuous quest for efficiency in food production comes at a high price for human health, animal welfare, and the environment.

Unspeakable animal cruelty is standard operating procedure on factory farms, and our food animals have almost no protecting from the torture and inhumane slaughter methods they are subjected too.

But grass-fed beef and pasture raised livestock are not the silver bullet either! The environmental pollution from these can be even greater, and most food animals grazed on pasture lands endure many of the same cruelties that their factory farms brethren do.
